Olympus Mons

The Olympus Mons the biggest and tallest mountain on mars. It is said to be dated back to 115 millions years old. The name Olympus Mons is Latin for Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus is much larger than mountain Everest, roughly 3 times bigger. Mount Olympus is a huge volcano and is the biggest known to mankind.

If a person was to stand on mars and look at Olympus Mons they would not be able to see the top. The mountain is so big that even if you were to stand far away you couldn't see the top. The mountain is so vast the even if you were to stand on one side of the top you wouldn't be able to see the other side.

Mount Olympus is a shield volcano which means it has vents all over it which have lava leaking out of it. There are reports of the mountain still having active volcanic activity. There was a collapse in the chamber of the volcano creating a caldera at the peak.
