Neil Armstrong (born august 5, 1930) Son of Stephen Koenig Armstrong and Viola Louise Engel, was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio. Armstrong has been an engineer and a test pilot and some call him the American Aviator. Armstrong was a univerity profesor and was the first person to step on the moon. Flying on the gemini 8 he was also the first U.S. citizen into space into space.
Before becoming an astronaut, Armstrong was in the United States Navy andwas in the middle of action in the Korean War. After the war, he served as a test pilot at the National Advisory Committee. He flew over 900 flights in diferent types of aircrafts. As a research pilot, Armstrong served as project pilot on the F-100 Super Sabre aircraft, F-101 Voodoo, and the Lockheed F-104A Starfighter. Neil Armstrong has accomplished alot in his life and is probobly hapily retired at age 79.
